Kua kohukohu ngā piko o Waikato awa. Tapuwae Roa joins with Te Ao Māori in mourning the passing of Kiingi Tuheitia Potatau Te Wherowhero VII. In a time of dire need for unity, Kiingi Tuheitia opened the gates of Tūrangawaewae to the motu. 13,000 Māori united in purpose and voice remains an inextinguishable memory of Kiingi Tuheitia‘s legacy. E te Kīngi, e hāngai pū ana tō rahi ki ō kupu hei ohakī ki te iwi mō ake tonu. “The best protest we can do right now is to be Māori. Be who we are, live our values, speak our reo, care for our mokopuna, our awa, our maunga. Just be Māori. Māori all day, every day. We are here, we are strong.”
