Tonkin + Taylor is attending of the 27th International Clean Air and Environment Conference, hosted by the CASANZ (Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand), in Hobart Tasmania. This year’s theme is Healthy Air for All – Responding to a Changing Environment. This conference is an opportunity for industry leaders and professionals to come together to share knowledge on the impact of air pollution and pathogens on our health, discuss the impact air pollution has on our infrastructure and to explore the day-to-day consequences of air pollution. Tonkin + Taylor has a range of speakers and presentations at the conference exploring topics such as the use of ambient monitoring data to investigate fugitive emissions, to community feedback on cultural air quality impacts in Aotearoa, New Zealand. We look forward to engaging with our peers on the intersections of air quality and climate change and exploring collaborative approaches to tackle these pressing challenges. This week, we celebrate a decade of excellence as Chris Perks, Sector Director – Transport + Delivery Partners, marks a milestone of 10 years with Tonkin + Taylor. Chris joined us with a wealth of experience as a highway engineer, having initially worked as a consultant and then at a client organisation before transitioning back into the consulting world. His technical expertise and leadership have forged strong relationships with our consultant partners and contractors, enabling the successful delivery of some of New Zealand's largest and most complex transport projects. Under Chris's guidance, the Transport Sector has grown and thrived, creating numerous opportunities for growth and development for many of our staff. His unique blend of dry British humour and genuine care for others has made him a respected leader and mentor within the team and helped him develop strong relationships with our constructor and consultant delivery partners. We're pleased to share that Angela Young, Group Marketing + Indigenous Director at Tonkin + Taylor, has been selected as the session chair at the upcoming Infrastructure New Zealand’s Conference Building Nations.  Angela will facilitate Session 3B: ‘Mitigating Climate Change - Where to From Here?’.  The session opens at 1.20 pm with an address by MP Julie Anne Genter, the Green Party spokesperson for transport. Following this, at 2.00 pm, Angela will guide the discussion on Scaling the Transition to a Zero-Emissions Economy by Connecting Finance and Investment to the People and Projects That Can Make It Happen with Hon James Shaw.  Rounding off the session will be a panel discussion at 2.40 pm on 'Leveraging Private Capital for Infrastructure Resilience and Decarbonisation’ with Bede Noonan from ACCIONA AU + NZ, Laura Harris from Mafic Partners, and Bank of New Zealand's Director of Specialised Finance, James Grant.
