About
In my legal practice, I'm a partner at Simpson Grierson, and led our Wellington litigation practice. I also hold governance roles in the public sector, sport and not-for-profit sectors.
I have more than 20 years experience advising on public law, administrative and regulatory issues. In the early part of my career, I worked at Crown Law and represented and advised government departments and ministries, Ministers, regulators and statutory decision makers. More recently, I founded the SG public law litigation team, assisting private and public sector clients.
I now sit on both the "public" and "private" sides of administrative law, helping both the "poachers" and the "game keepers" with making decisions - and with how to respond to them.
In 2017, I founded Simpson Grierson's Public Law and Government Team. As part of the Litigation group, we help clients to navigate and make sense of government and regulatory processes. We act for a wide range of clients across the commercial, central and local government and wider public sector, and not-for-profit.
I appear regularly in the High Court, Court of Appeal, and assist clients participating in inquiries and Royal Commissions. I also appear in the employment jurisdiction and in a range of tribunals and administrative bodies.
Key areas of practice: Public and Administrative Law, Regulation, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Tort Law, Inquiries, Education, Employment Law, Privacy and Official Information.
