Adil Al Kindi is a highly esteemed Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Sultan Qaboos University, University Medical City, where he also serves as the Head of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. His role encompasses administrative responsibilities, clinical work, teaching, and research in clinical and transformational medicine.

With over 23 years of experience in medicine and cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Al Kindi has established a formidable track record. He graduated with honors from Sultan Qaboos University, earning both his Bachelor's in Health Sciences and Medical Doctor Degree at the top of graduating class. His pursuit of excellence led him to specialized training at prestigious institutions in Canada and the USA. He completed his residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he received a Fellowship in Cardiac Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a Master’s in Experimental Surgery. Further honing his skills, he joined Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center under Dr Valerie Rusch in New York City as a Senior Fellow in Thoracic Surgical Oncology, followed by a tenure at Cleveland Clinic Ohio as a Clinical Associate, working with Dr. Lars Svensson on Aortic Surgery, TAVR, and endovascular surgery.

In 2012, Dr. Al Kindi rejoined Sultan Qaboos University Hospital as a Consultant Surgeon and was promoted to Head of the Division in 2015. He is deeply passionate about providing quality clinical care and has extensive expertise in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, thoracic oncology, TAVR and structural heart intervention, ECMO, and general cardiothoracic surgery. He co-founded and currently leads the ECMO and TAVR teams with notable success and has received numerous academic and research awards throughout his career.

Dr. Al Kindi also dedicates his time to aiding upcoming cardiac centers in establishing excellence in cardiac surgery and TAVR. His commitment extends beyond Oman, as he has led multiple cardiac surgical missions in underserved countries and life coaches many young medical doctors and the general public.

Recently, Dr. Al Kindi enhanced his leadership and managerial skills by earning a Master's in Leadership and Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona State University, sponsored by the Royal Academy of Management (RAM) in Oman as one of the top candidates in Oman for this track.
