Rob Lowe got sober so he could stop cheating.
“I had met my now wife, Sheryl, and was attempting my first try at monogamy, which was not really in my nature at the time, and I wasn’t able to do it,” the “West Wing” star reveals in a Haute Living LA cover story. “It made me examine how I was living.”
A former self-described “liberal Democrat” who recently told the New York Times, “My days of just ticking the party box are long over,” Lowe has been discussed as a potential politician. But “the tenor in this country is so — I can’t think of any other word than ‘gross’ . . . [running] would be hard to do,” he says. “For the first time in my life . . . I don’t idealize or romanticize running for office and that’s really sad.”
