Ray Liotta got into a fight on set of ‘Goodfellas’

Ray Liotta had his lip busted by a co-star when a scene in crime classic “Goodfellas” got too physical.

Liotta, 59, dished behind-the-scenes details of Martin Scorsese’s epic to Brian Koppelman on his ESPN podcast “The Moment.” The actor recalled that Chuck Low — Robert De Niro’s onetime real estate consultant who landed a role as Morrie’s Wig Shop owner, Morrie Kessler, in the film — took one scene too seriously.

“He thought I was really coming at him,” Liotta recalled of the amateur actor. “He took my momentum and threw me… and I hit the wall and I split my lip. I had to stop, go get stitched up and come back.”

Liotta says movie buffs should note, “If you watch… I forgot which scene it was after, my lip is all [bleeped] up.”  He also reveals that while filming his breakout, he was coping with the death of his mother.

Hollywood screenwriter/director Koppelman also recently interviewed Gilbert Gottfried and singer Adam Duritz.
