After splitting up with Uma Thurman, multimillionaire playboy Arpad “Arki” Busson has fallen for another glamorous leading lady, “The English Patient” star Kristin Scott Thomas.
Sources tell us that the pair have only been together a relatively short time after the French financier split up with Thurman this past spring. But one source said of Busson and Thomas, “They are madly in love, it is very serious.” The new couple have been spending time together in London and Paris, where they were spotted smiling and holding hands in July.
Thurman, 44, and Busson, 51, called off their engagement for a second time in April. She reportedly broke off their first engagement in 2009, but the pair reconciled in 2011, and a year later she gave birth to their daughter, Luna. Hedge fund king Busson, who lives in London and is well-known for his philanthropy, also has two sons with his ex-girlfriend, supermodel Elle Macpherson.
“Four Weddings and a Funeral” star Thomas, 54, a French-English actress who’s lived in Paris since she was 19, has made 65 films in both languages. Thomas, who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in “The English Patient,” recently joked she likes to think of herself as a “recovering actress,” but is currently starring in the highly critically acclaimed “Electra” at the Old Vic in London.
She was married to French doctor François Olivennes, with whom she had three children, until 2008. She joked to the Guardian in January before she got together with Busson: “I’ve been very, very lucky. Married the right man, had babies with the right man.” When asked if she feels lonely, she says, “I think everybody does sometimes. I used to feel lonely when I was married and had three children, you know.”
Meanwhile, Thurman, who lives in New York, has also moved on. While she has denied dating her longtime friend and film collaborator Quentin Tarantino, she has been spending time with former flame, hotelier André Balazs.
