Cumberbatch’s engagement ‘most important news’ of his life

Benedict Cumberbatch will have to work twice as hard to make his 2015 great.

“The Imitation Game” star, 38, called his engagement to Sophie Hunter the biggest moment of his year.

“I’ve obviously had the most important news of my life as far as my life goes,” the “Sherlock” actor told The Sun at the British Independent Film Awards.

“But that’s also sort of private, I don’t want to talk about that too much, but my engagement to the woman I love is obviously the most important thing of 2014 for me.”

Cumberbatch announced his impending nuptials to Hunter, 36, in the Times newspaper in the births, deaths and marriages section in November.

Soon after, the couple made their red-carpet debut at New York City’s “The Imitation Game” premiere.

“One of the most incredible things about getting engaged, which we had no idea would be coming back our way, it’s the amount of love that just comes flooding back,” he explained to The Times. “I thought it was just all about us declaring that we were in love and getting married, but actually it’s the world going, ‘We love you too!’ It’s amazing. Family, friends, the world … it’s amazing.”
