Audio surfaces of Stapp’s disturbing phone calls

Scott Stapp’s downward spiral shows no signs of slowing down.

On Monday, TMZ posted four audio clips of phone calls the former Creed frontman made last month that illustrate just how troubled he is.

In the first clip, the out-of-breath 41-year-old can be heard pleading for help, claiming that a group of people is trying to kill him, and that in addition to stealing $20 million from him, the group has been after him for “six to seven weeks.”

“Someone is trying to kill me. I have called three times. I am running down the highway. I have called 911 eight times on this trip I’ve had, working, and no one ever shows up,” he tells the 911 operator.

Stapp also appears to refer to last month’s Internet hoax claiming he had died.

“I’m not dead, I’m alive, and I need some help,” he tells the operator.

In the same call, but in another clip, Stapp claims that a 15-vehicle caravan is chasing him.

“I was running all night. Fifteen vehicles,” Stapp says. “And it’s finally ran out of gas. I’ve been running straight for probably 36 hours. They were pursuing me.”

In another call, Stapp, who lives in Florida, leaves a message for the dean of his son Jagger’s school, saying he’s been unable to get in touch with his family and warning the administrator that ISIS is planning an attack on the state.

“The people of Florida are at risk. I’ve uncovered the core of ISIS is within my own family. Please call me immediately. This is not a joke,” Stapp says in the call.

Stapp placed another call to 911 shortly after his estranged wife, Jaclyn, and sister-in-law called police to let them know that the singer was riding a bike around their neighborhood and threatening to kill President Obama.

In the call, the singer can be heard explaining that Jaclyn has stolen his truck and laments living in a country where that is legal.

“Yes, I’d like to report a stolen vehicle,” he tells the operator. “My wife said she took it, she’s selling it and she’s keeping the money and I can f–k off. … I can’t believe, in America, that someone can take your vehicle and sell it without your permission and keep the money. What kind of country do we live in? And I’m on a bicycle since she stole my car.”

He also accuses Jaclyn of threatening to blackmail him if he calls police.

“She threatened to blackmail me and said if I went to the police about the stolen money, she would release, to the public, supposed pictures she says she has or anything else she can do to defame me and ruin my reputation and my career,” he says.

Last month, Stapp was placed under a 72-hour psychiatric hold in Madison County, Florida.

Jaclyn, the singer’s wife of eight years, also filed for divorce and tried to get him placed under a 60-day psych hold, citing his drug abuse.
