Ian Somerhalder and actress Nikki Reed are husband and wife.
The pair tied the knot in Santa Monica, Calif., on Sunday evening, reports E! News.
Somerhalder, 36, may have alluded to the big day with a simple tweet that read, “Most beautiful morning ever…”
Instead of gifts, the lovebirds asked guests to donate to their animal rescue charity — a unique touch for their nuptials.
Somerhalder and Reed, 26, got engaged in January after only six months of dating. Their courtship was a whirlwind experience. They also reportedly moved in together after three weeks of dating.
“They were friends before, the groundwork had been laid before,” an insider told Us Weekly at the time. “They had always been attracted to each other, but always in another relationship. It may seem quick, but they knew it was right. They believe in the same things. They are dedicated to their work and helping others.”
Their love of animals is no secrets either. Back in August, the couple adopted two horses and a cat. They also share two dogs together.
This is Somerhalder’s first marriage, while this is Reed’s second trip down the aisle. Her previous two-year marriage to “American Idol” alum Paul McDonald ended in 2014 and their divorce was finalized in early January.
