Harvey Weinstein: ‘Neverland’ Tony snub was ‘aimed at me’

After Harvey Weinstein’s “Finding Neverland” failed to land any Tony nominations, the Hollywood mogul told the cast and crew of the Broadway show that the Tony snub “was a missile, squarely aimed at me” and “had no reflection on them or what takes place onstage every single night.”

The Post’s theater columnist Michael Riedel had written of the diss: “This is Broadway telling Harvey to go away, to take his bulldozing tactics back to Hollywood and leave the business of theater to theater people.”

We’re told Weinstein went to the show Tuesday evening and went backstage to address the cast and crew, offering reassurance and urging them not to take it personally.

According to a witness, Weinstein then wheeled out a cake decorated with the words, “We nominate you the best cast on Broadway.” Weinstein says that his show is a monster hit, having grossed more than $1 million weekly for seven straight weeks.

Also spotted in the crowd Tuesday were Michael Strahan and former Broadway Peter Pan Sandy Duncan.
