The best part of breaking up is making up for Matthew Mellon and his wife Nicole Hanley.
I reported in May that the photogenic couple had split. The banking heir moved into a $5 million apartment designed by Tony Ingrao in the new Baccarat tower.
But Mellon couldn’t keep away from his fashion designer wife and their two kids, who live in an apartment in the Pierre.
The reconciled lovebirds are already off on a second honeymoon in Europe. They’ll be fêted Tuesday in London at a party thrown by Prince Pavlos of Greece and his wife Marie-Chantal.
Next weekend, the couple will be guests at a wedding in Mykonos.
Friends were shocked earlier in June when the couple was dirty dancing at the New York Botanical Garden benefit hosted by Carolina Herrera, Gillian Miniter and Alexandra Lebenthal.
Asked about the state of their marriage, Nicole told a pal, “We are a work in progress.”
Hanley also laughed about Mellon’s new apartment, and said, “I wish he’d buy me one.”
