Sigourney Weaver, Fred Armisen and Steve Buscemi lent their voices to Elizabeth Swados’ animated short for HBO, “My Depression,” for almost nothing.
“We used people we knew and friends — we just reached out,” Swados told us this week at a screening.
“Everybody did it for scale, or nothing,” she said of the project, which is based on her book about long-term depression. “Everybody believed the message should be spread . . . there is too much depression and it’s dangerous.”
Swados’ Broadway musical “Runaways” was a hit in 1978.
