Foster family torn apart by fame

Call it a Foster family feud.

After Page Six reported Yolanda Foster’s Lyme disease played a part in her shocking split from hit composer hubby David Foster, sources further say there’s bad blood in the family over who’s more famous — extending to the couple’s kids, including supermodel Gigi Hadid.

A source explains that after Yolanda married David, in 2011, she took the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” role “to help her daughters [Gigi and Bella] rise in the modeling industry.” Meanwhile, also in 2011, David was named chairman of Universal’s Verve Music Group, but now, “David’s record label is shutting down . . . and he is blaming her for this failure because he thinks the ‘Housewives’ show has hurt him.”

Gigi and Bella’s exposure on the show helped catapult them, and Yolanda, to stardom. Gigi’s a Victoria’s Secret model and Bella’s dating the Weeknd. David hasn’t reaped the same benefits despite having star pals like Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Steven Tyler on the show.

“He thinks the show hurt him,” a source says. “He has a gigantic ego.” Meanwhile, a VH1 show starring his daughters Erin and Sara, “Barely Famous,” has kept the duo just that — despite its being renewed for a second season.

Another industry source said: “David likes to stay relevant. He’s had success and was a big deal . . . so I think [the show made him] feel like he doesn’t hold the same place in pop culture. Maybe it’s a reality check because her daughters are pop culture.”

“I’m sure he’s upset her kids’ careers are popping off and his aren’t. He’s competitive in that way,” adds the industry source.

David, who produced Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” saw Verve this year folded into Interscope Geffen A&M.

With the couple splitting, “There is a rift [between Yolanda’s and] David’s daughters, whom Yolanda doesn’t speak with any longer, but was once close,” a source said. “It sounds like a lot of jealousy on the Foster side, as those Hadid girls are huge stars [now].” Reps did not comment.
