Palm Beach heats up for first big bash of 2016

The holidays are over, but Palm Beach’s social season is just kicking into high gear.

The “first big party” of 2016, we hear, will be Emilia Fanjul’s annual dinner and auction for the Glades Academy Foundation on Jan. 15. The bash will be held at Café Boulud, with a theme of “An Evening of Great Expectations.”

Meanwhile, aristocratic Rosita Spencer-Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough, will hit the town for her annual Palm Beach getaway, and John K. and Marianne Castle will throw a dinner for her at a private club.

In 2015, the Castles sold their 15,347-square-foot home — the former “Winter White House” Kennedy compound — for $31 million. They’ve relocated to a penthouse at Palm Beach Towers.

But, the season’s biggest social event of all is on March 4 — the Preservation Foundation’s annual Gala Dinner Dance Benefit at The Breakers.
