Naughty Nicki Minaj dedicated a raunchy performance of “Anaconda” at the Time 100 Gala to Donald Trump and, oddly, Joe Biden, who wasn’t there.
But Minaj wowed the power crowd — which included Charlie Rose, astronaut Scott Kelly, three-time Nobel Peace Prize-nominated Congolese gynecologist Denis Mukwege and Ariana Grande — with an energetic performance, asking the audience, “Who do you think likes the biggest butts, Donald Trump or Joe Biden?” Trump, the cultured crowd concurred.
While the veep was not at the event to honor Time’s most influential people, his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, was among the guests, but had left before Minaj’s hip-shaking performance.
Enjoying Minaj’s show was former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who survived a 2011 assassination attempt, and who was dancing up front. Skier Lindsey Vonn, ex of Tiger Woods, cheered when Minaj said, “Hands up — those independent women who don’t need a man to treat them badly . . . and can buy their own house.”
There was so much security for Trump’s arrival that all the stars had to go through a metal detector. Gayle King was spotted being frisked and having her handbag searched.
Trump, with wife Melania, triumphantly mingled as Tuesday’s primary results rolled in, telling guests, “We had a clean sweep tonight.” Those congratulating The Donald included Google mogul Eric Schmidt. (Trump said, “Wow. Eric Schmidt. Now I’ve really made it.”)
Trump also told us of his interview with Megyn Kelly for Fox, “I think it will be a very good interview, I hope. I respect the fact that she was able to pick up the phone to clear the air.”
Caitlyn Jenner joked in a speech mentioning “bathroom bills” for gay and transgender people: “Donald said I could use any bathroom I wanted in Trump Tower. So [when walking by] of course I veered right in there . . . Took care of myself . . . It actually worked out quite well.” And upon meeting statuesque supermodel Karlie Kloss, Jenner quipped, “At last, someone my height.”
