Christie Brinkley declared her independence — from locals with “weak bladders.”
Responding to a NY Post report Monday, the 62-year-old supermodel said she has no regrets about using a hose to spray a woman who relieved herself on Sag Harbor Cove, near Brinkley’s Hamptons home, late Saturday.
“I know it’s Independence Day but that does not mean free to pee right in front of my guests and me at my fireworks gathering,” Brinkley said in a statement released through her publicist.
“Maybe the trespasser should celebrate Depends Day, as I was forced to hose down her mess.”
Erica Remkus, a 36-year-old Sag Harbor resident and hairdresser, admitted to The Post Sunday that she’d relieved herself on the sand near Brinkley’s pad after the Uptown Girl opened up on her with her garden hose.
Just as Remkus was about to do her deed, Brinkley sprayed the woman.
Remkus insisted the incident happened on a public beach, and a local government official told The Post that it took place on taxpayer-owned sand. Not that there’s anything OK with that, either.
“My wish for everyone on this Fourth of July is, ‘May you live in the land of the free from belligerent drunken stalkers with weak bladders and foul mouths,’” according to Brinkley, who then cited the name of her own sparkling wine, Bellissima Prosecco.
“That’s not too much to ask, right? Peace! I’ll raise my glass of Bellissima Prosecco to that! Cheers, happy Fourth everyone.”
Remkus couldn’t be immediately reached for comment on Monday.
