Ahead of Tiffany Trump’s speech at the Republican Convention, her mother, Marla Maples, was desperately trying to beat airport delays to get there — even if she may or may not agree entirely with Donald Trump’s politics.
Maples, the Donald’s second wife until 1999, told us on Tuesday: “I’m traveling to Cleveland to be there to support Tiffany, however she may need me. Political beliefs aside, Tiffany loves her father, and the speech she wrote came from the heart. I could not be prouder of what a poised, articulate and incredible person my daughter is. I will be there to support her as my message has always been one of unity.”
Tiffany, 22, has been accompanied by her boyfriend of a year Ross Mechanic, who is reportedly a registered Democrat, at the convention. He is the son of powerful New York real estate attorney Jonathan Mechanic, who is chairman of Fried Frank’s real estate group. Ross, 21, and Tiffany met while attending the University of Pennsylvania, from which she graduated this May. Ross has a year left.
