Channing Tatum is going to star in a remake of ’80s classic “Splash” — as the mermaid.
Disney is remaking the 1984 movie but with a gender twist: Tatum will play the role originally played by Daryl Hannah, while Jillian Bell will take the Tom Hanks role, Deadline reports.
Tatum will act as a producer along with Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, who directed the original.
Bell worked with Tatum on “22 Jump Street,” and the “Splash” reboot was reportedly her idea.
