My, how you’ve changed, Mr. Hamilton!
Lin-Manuel Miranda, just two months off his final bow in “Hamilton,” is a new man in GQ’s October issue — done up in preppy style and shorn of the signature long hair he had grown to play the Founding Father.
And he couldn’t be happier.
“I couldn’t take the train for a while,” the Broadway phenom, 36, tells the mag. “Now that my hair is off, and I look less like The Guy in the Thing, my life’s been a little easier.”
Miranda cut his locks July 9, right after his final performance in the blockbuster musical.
“It was like returning to myself, to me, who I’ve always been, after two years of wearing it,” he explains. 
The Inwood native, due to depart for London to film “Mary Poppins Returns,” says he was ready to take on new creative challenges.
“There are people who have a hit that connects with great success, and then they chase that success for the rest of their lives, and that’s their doom,” he says. “You think of artists who had that big thing, and then they go back to that well again and again with diminishing returns, but the world has moved on. And then there are the artists who really stay true to themselves. Doing what inspires them.”
While he’s adjusting to life without “Hamilton,” there are still things he will miss about the stage.
“It’s a 14-course meal of a role. So I leave very tired, but very fulfilled, every night,” he says. “So I miss that. I miss the cast and crew. But I also had enough stuff going on in real life that I didn’t need this to be the rest of my life.”
