Samira Wiley said yes.
The “Orange Is the New Black” star is engaged to girlfriend and “OITNB” writer Lauren Morelli.
Wiley, 29, announced the news on Instagram, posing with Morelli, 33, and showing off her new rock with the simple caption, “Yes.” Morelli posted the same photo with a heart emoji.
It will be the first marriage for Wiley and the second for Morelli, who was married to television writer Steve Basilone when she met her future wife in 2013. Morelli penned an essay in May of the next year explaining how writing for the Netflix series made her realize she was a lesbian and that she was in love with Wiley, who played inmate Poussey Washington on the show.
“I went through it all on set: I fell in love with a woman, and I watched my life play out on screen,” she wrote. “It feels liberating and appropriate to live my life in front of you.”
