“Flip or Flop” star Tarek El Moussa has filed for divorce from estranged wife Christina El Moussa.
The move comes about a month after the couple announced their separation.
Tarek, 36, cited irreconcilable difference, TMZ reports, and requested joint custody of daughter Taylor, 6, and son Brayden, 1.
He reportedly also requested spousal support from Christina, 33, but requested that a judge block any efforts for Christina to collect support from him.
“It’s civilized, or as best it can be under the circumstances,” a source told the site. “They have to make it work if they want to continue monetizing what they do.”
Tarek and Christina split in May 2016 after an explosive fight that ended in police seizing guns from their shared home. The pair called the incident an “unfortunate misunderstanding” and told press in a statement, “Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage. During this process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be. We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together.”
Christina has moved on with family contractor Gary Anderson, while Tarek dated the couple’s former nanny briefly after the split.
Tarek and Christina married in 2009.
