Shailene Woodley hates her mugshot — and big banks

Shailene Woodley’s only regret about getting arrested is her mugshot.

Woodley was among 27 activists arrested for criminal trespass and rioting at a protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline on Oct. 10. She pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial after several delays.

“I wish I’d known that this was going to be as public as it was. I would have made, like, a face,” the “Divergent” star told Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show” on Monday. “I’m just looking at the person, like, ‘Are you kidding me right now?'”

Still, Woodley, 25, admitted her situation could have been a lot worse if her mom hadn’t been available to post her $500 bond to bail her out quickly.

“I was lucky, my mom was actually with me in North Dakota that day,” she said. “I was Facebook Live-ing, I got arrested, I handed her my phone and I was like, ‘Keep recording,'” she recalled. “I can’t imagine, actually, what it would be like to watch your daughter handcuffed and taken away.”

If you thought Woodley’s arrest would curb her activism, you’re wrong.

“The front lines don’t necessarily have to be in North Dakota,” she said. “The front lines can be wherever you are. You can create a protest in New York City, because protests are about awareness and about people coming together.”

Woodley, an outspoken advocate for Bernie Sanders in the 2016 race, also took a moment to eschew big banks.

“I think one of the biggest ways that we’re going to defeat this pipeline more so than even protesting on the frontlines, if that’s not your steez, is to divest from these big banks that are invested in the pipeline. That’s not just about banks that are invested in the pipeline, it’s about banks that are invested in the ban on immigration and all of these things. There will be a website up in the next few days called howtodivest.org … we’re building it.”
