Nick Cannon: I’m not sleeping with Mariah

Newly single Mariah Carey and ex-husband Nick Cannon have been spending a lot of time together lately, but are they really reconciling?

After Wendy Williams pressed Cannon on the subject this week, he told her, “You’re speaking this into existence.”

“I spoke the marriage into existence! It could happen,” 37-year-old Cannon added.

Cannon described his ex-wife as “gorgeous” and “amazing,” but denied that he’s currently bedding the “I Don’t” singer.

“There would be nothing wrong with that,” Cannon noted, “but that’s not the case … There’s nothing but unconditional love there, but I’m respectful.”

He said the exes are focused on co-parenting their twins, Monroe and Moroccan, who turn 6 on Sunday

When Williams accused Cannon of coming between Carey and James Packer last year, the comedian flatly denied it, exclaiming, “I wanted her to be with the billionaire! More yachts for everybody!”

He added of Carey and her most recent ex Bryan Tanaka (who Cannon previously hinted should have been jealous of him), “Whatever she wants to do in her personal life, I support, I salute. I just want her to be happy … Regardless of [if] we’re together or not, I’m always [going to] be that stability.”

Williams countered by asking why, if that’s the case, the couple divorced. Cannon replied, “I feel like when two people are in a relationship, it should be about growth. It should be a situation where everyone’s becoming a better human being in the relationship. So when you get to a point where there’s no longer any growth and you’re not bettering each other, I felt like it was probably best, especially for our children, since they’re the number one priority, if I could be the best human being and the best father from outside of that house.”

Cannon became a father outside of another house in February when his ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell gave birth to their son Golden.

But he insists that the families blend well. “[Carey] was happy for me, and the kids all play together, they visit.”

He did admit, however, that Carey hasn’t met Bell yet — and that Golden’s birth was no match for Carey’s diva delivery of Dem Babies.

“She shut the whole hospital down,” he said. “When they were born, she made me play music as they was coming out. It was [her song] ‘Fantasy.’ They was dancing to ‘Fantasy.'”
