Chris Soules asks court to dismiss charges after fatal crash

Chris Soules — the former “Bachelor” reality star involved in an April 24 crash that killed a tractor driver — has asked an Iowa district court to dismiss charges against him.

Soules, 35, has been accused of leaving the scene of the accident that killed Kenneth Mosher, 66 — a felony offense in Iowa.

Soules’ lawyers argued in Iowa district court documents on Monday that a 911 call by Soules proves he is innocent. They claim in court papers that, “A recording of a 911 phone call placed by Mr. Soules provides real-time evidence that [Soules] unhesitatingly identified himself and his role in the accident… and tried his utmost to resuscitate” the victim. They add that Soules, “confirmed that emergency responders were en route” and “did not depart the scene until he was assured emergency personnel had the situation in hand.”

Local authorities have alleged Soules took off from the accident, ditching his truck, and that he was not cooperative when they later arrived to his home. Soules’ side says his 911 call, which was released last week, proves otherwise.
