Gwyneth breaks her vow to avoid Met Gala

Gwyneth Paltrow is playing nice with Vogue Editor Anna Wintour.

Four years after writing off Wintour’s Met Gala as “un-fun” and vowing never to attend again, Paltrow showed up at the 2017 ball on Monday night looking ready to party in a pale-pink sequin cocktail dress.

Paltrow’s well-timed change of heart comes just days after news broke that she’s teaming up with Wintour to launch a quarterly print version of her lifestyle site, Goop, for Conde Nast. The magazine is slated to debut in September.

Hours before the Met Gala, Paltrow hinted that she’d be attending in Calvin Klein, and noted on Instagram that she wore a white dress by the designer to her first ball in 1995. For Monday’s event, she ended up choosing a one-shoulder Calvin Klein By Appointment frock with an angled front slit.

As previously reported, Wintour carefully vets each attendee of the glitzy fundraiser — which raises millions each year for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Anna Wintour Costume Center — and is even said to “ban” certain people who have wronged her or her friends.
