Megyn Kelly going up against Kelly Ripa at 9 a.m.

Megyn Kelly is going head-to-head with ABC’s Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest with her new NBC daytime show premiering at 9 a.m. in the fall.

NBC confirmed Monday that Kelly will take the 9 a.m. time slot, which had previously been the third hour of the “Today” show. Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb will remain at 10 a.m. on NBC.

Kelly — whose Sunday night news magazine show will start in June on NBC — started her first day at NBC’s Rockefeller Center offices today.

The former Fox News anchor tweeted, “First day on the job @NBCNews! On the air in June, but had so much fun meeting new colleagues today. Grateful. Happy.”

Megyn’s announcement comes on the same day that ABC announced Seacrest is joining “Live” as Ripa’s new co-host, which will start a new battle in the morning television ratings war.

Megyn had co-hosted “Live With Kelly” post-election last November. We’re told the two blond TV stars “got on well,” but now they’ll be arch-enemies.
