Lara Trump mum on Eric’s love of hunting at service dog event

President Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump — the wife of first son Eric Trump — spoke about her love of animals at the American Humane Hero Dog Awards.

The night saluted service dogs that worked in Iraq and Afghanistan and have been reunited with the veterans they were in combat with.

Lara told Jean Shafiroff, one of the organization’s ambassadors, “Ever since I was a little girl I’ve loved animals. I do everything I can to help them, and I support this wonderful organization that reunites veterans with their dogs.”

But she didn’t explain how she then felt about her husband’s love of grotesque big-game trophy hunting.

In front of a crowd that included Lois Pope, Naomi Judd and Alex Donner, awards went to Cena, the combat dog of USMC Cpl. Jeff DeYoung, who said, “I didn’t even have the money to take the bus to get Cena until Humane paid for it,” and Mango, the dog of Army vet Judy Walter.

Mango broke her back while in service and received her award in a tiny (animal) wheelchair at the National Arts Club.
