Antonio Sabàto Jr.’s estranged wife claims he’s on drugs

Antonio Sabàto Jr.’s divorce is getting ugly.

Just days after the former “General Hospital” star announced his run for Congress, divorce documents surfaced in which his estranged wife, Cheryl Marie, claimed the actor is battling drug addiction, TMZ reports.

Sabàto Jr., 45, filed for divorce from Marie, 45, on Dec. 27, 2016, after five years of marriage. In documents obtained by the site, Marie claims that Sabàto Jr. has been struggling with a dependency on prescription drugs, including benzodiazepines, which are commonly prescribed as muscle relaxers, as well as for sleeping disorders, and anxiety.

In her filing, Marie also claims that Sabàto Jr. used crystal meth before they were together in 2009, but also admitted his now-14-year-old daughter, Mina, from ex-girlfriend Kristin Rossetti, motivated him to get clean.

Marie claims that Sabàto Jr.’s drug problem poses a safety hazard for 6-year-old son Antonio.

Sabàto Jr. denied Marie’s claims to TMZ, admitting that he’s been to rehab for an addiction to sleeping pills, but trashed the rest of her claims as “a bunch of lies.”

Sabàto Jr. is seeking joint custody of Antonio.

A rep for the actor did not immediately return a request for comment.
