Elizabeth Hurley — who was first named as an Estee Lauder model in 1995 — says Evelyn Lauder gave her valuable health advice.
“Evelyn Lauder gave me my first mammogram for my 40th birthday, and she made me promise that I would do it every year, so I have,” Hurley revealed to Page Six.
“I dread them — it is uncomfortable for two seconds — but it is scary,” she added at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party on Friday. “You are scared of the results, but what I have learned is that if there shall be something wrong, it has to be found early so that you stand a good chance of surviving. You don’t want to sit on it because then the results are not going to be that good . . . If we can persuade one woman to check her breast every month, then we have done a good thing.”
The “Austin Powers” star pointed out that “men get breast cancer, too . . . 1 percent of all breast cancer.”
The event was hosted by Victoria Beckham and Leonard Lauder and raised a healthy $6 million.
