After Donald Trump won the presidential election, Roseanne Barr believed that it was inevitable her ’90s sitcom “Roseanne” would come back to TV.
Barr — whose eponymous show about a working-class family in the American heartland is now being resurrected for ABC — was overheard at the network’s upfront telling her co-star John Goodman that she believes the current political landscape and the revival are connected.
Our eavesdropper tells us that Goodman said, “I never thought in a million years we’d be back,” and that Barr replied, “I did. As soon as I saw the election results, I knew we’d be back.”
The new season, starring the original cast, will premiere next year.
