Selena Gomez’s new song is about The Weeknd

This will be a tough blow for Beliebers.

The co-writer of Selena Gomez‘s new song, “Bad Liar,” took to Twitter to correct a music blog that incorrectly assumed the track was about getting over an ex.

While many thought it was written about ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, the track from songwriter Justin Tranter and Gomez, 24, is actually about her current boyfriend, The Weeknd.

“LYRIC PREMIERE: @selenagomez is all of us tryna get over an ex on her new track ‘bad liar,'” Genius tweeted.

Tranter quoted the tweet and responded, “You got some of the lyrics wrong, and it’s actually about trying to hide magic feelings for someone new, but not being able to. Xo.”

A closer look at Gomez’s lyrics reveals that she fell for the “Starboy” crooner, 27, while he was still dating model Bella Hadid.

“I was walking down the street the other day / Trying to distract myself / Then I see your face / Ooo, you got someone else / Tryna play it coy / Tryna make it disappear / But just like the battle of Troy / There’s nothing subtle here,” she sings.

Gomez and The Weeknd were first spotted kissing in January. They made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2017 Met Gala.
