Brooke Shields has applied to join the ultra-WASPy Meadow Club of Southampton.
Sources tell Page Six that to get past the tennis club’s famously tough membership process you have to be nominated by one current member, seconded by another and then scrutinized, ahem, interviewed by a group of six members.
Then the applicant’s name is circulated among all members to see if anyone has any objections.
Those allowed in usually belong to fancy families such as the Santo Domingos, and celebrities and — gasp — actresses are usually never admitted.
But Brooke has a saving grace — her grandfather Frank Shields was a top-ranked tennis player in the ’20s and ’30s, which might impress the snooty old guard.
