Ariel Winter doesn’t care if you think her 29-year-old boyfriend is too old for her.
“I’m happy, and whatever people want to say they can say,” the 19-year-old actress told Refinery29 of boyfriend Levi Meaden. “I don’t understand why someone would even comment on our situation at all, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.”
The “Modern Family” star, who began dating Meaden in November 2016, revealed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” earlier this month that she and Meaden had moved in together in a house she bought last year.
“I have to say he is the most incredible person I’ve ever met and that I’m so lucky to be with him,” she gushed to Refinery29. “He’s always complimenting me and making me feel special and beautiful. Even when I do feel bad about myself, he’s just there to support me and pick me back up when I’m feeling down.”
Winter also addressed her wardrobe choices, which have sparked controversy over the past several months.
“I went through a lot of hate online, so I tried to change myself for a really long time, and it really didn’t work, because people just kept hating on me no matter what I did,” she said. “So I decided that instead of pleasing these other people, I’ll just spend that time pleasing myself.”
She most recently came under fire for posting sexy bikini pics on Memorial Day.
In April, Winter told Page Six she doesn’t want to be viewed as a role model.
“I think people put too much pressure on people to be perfect and to portray that imagine,” she told us.
