Aaron Carter claims he had ‘nothing’ in his system during DUI arrest

Aaron Carter insists he did not have any substances in his system when he was arrested over the weekend on DUI and drug offense charges.

The singer told “Entertainment Tonight” that he was under the influence of “nothing,” but had smoked marijuana “like nine hours before that.”

“No. Nothing. Zero. I am willing to do a polygraph test,” he said. “Hire a polygraph person, a professional. Strap me up.”

But according to local authorities Carter, 29, failed field sobriety tests, and refused to provide blood or urine samples during Saturday’s incident in Georgia.

He claimed that the reason he was swerving on the highway was due to a faulty tire. He says he drove to a local AutoZone with his girlfriend, where police arrived and arrested him outside the shop.

He recalled cops saying, “‘Step outside of the AutoZone right now.’ [They] forcefully grabbed me out.” He was also convinced they knew he was famous.

“They said, ‘Is there anything illegal in the car? And I said, ‘I have marijuana in the car’… I have no reason to lie, I have no reason to obstruct justice,” he explained.

Carter said he holds a license for medical marijuana due to his hiatal hernia — which is why he says he doesn’t drink alcohol — and told “ET” that he had previously been taking pain medication for a jaw injury.

The younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter was charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and having drug-related objects, according to jail reports. His girlfriend, Madison Ann Parker, 26, was charged with obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers, possession of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.

He was released on bail on Sunday.
