On Saturday, family members and friends gathered for Chester Bennington’s funeral.
Aerial paparazzi shots showed dozens of chairs set up at South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes, California. There was also a stage where a tribute performance took place.
According to TMZ, many of the guests were also musicians who performed or toured with Bennington and Linkin Park. Security at the memorial service was strict as attendees were given wrist bands and access passes.
Bennington died on July 20 from suicide. He was 41.
While loved ones gathered over the weekend, his ex-wife Samantha Bennington took to social media to share her thoughts and grief.
“Words can not express the devastating loss that my son & I both, along with the rest of our families are feeling over my ex-husband & son’s father’s recent passing,” she wrote on Sunday. “Unreal to stay the least!”
The pair was married from 1996 to 2005.
“I pray from my soul that he is at peace and no longer suffering,” Samantha added.
