Fyre Fest organizer reportedly seeking plea deal over fraud charges

Fyre Festival organizer Billy McFarland is seeking a plea deal with the US government over fraud charges, according to reports.

McFarland, who paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to have influencers like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid promote the failed fest online, is accused of forging documents to get investors to hand over millions.

US Attorney Kristy Greenberg has filed for a continuance, writing, “Defense counsel and I have had discussions regarding a possible disposition of this case, and we plan to continue our discussions.”

A 30-day extension has been issued, and McFarland, who faces up to 20 years in the slammer, remains free on $300,000 bail.

We hear the 25-year-old has been abiding his bail conditions and surrendered his passport.

This case is just one of many filed against McFarland and Fyre. He is being represented by attorney Randall Jackson.
