Inside Luann de Lesseps’ crumbling final weeks of marriage

Luann de Lesseps suddenly pulled the plug on her failing marriage, filing for divorce after just seven months — while her husband, Tom D’Agostino Jr., was preparing to do the same.

Page Six exclusively learned that paperwork was filed in Sag Harbor, Long Island, on Thursday, signaling an end to their tumultuous seven-month marriage.

We reported in July that the pair had gotten into a physical confrontation in a fancy New York restaurant — during which de Lesseps slapped her husband — and that the marriage was hanging by a thread. (De Lesseps denied slapping D’Agostino, calling it a “love tap” amid the blowout fight.)

Sources said they had broken up and reunited a number of times recently. Two weeks ago, de Lesseps denied that the marriage was in trouble, saying on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” that they simply had “a very passionate love affair going.”

We’re told that after the big blowup, the pair — who were married in a flashy, media-blitzed Palm Beach, Fla., wedding on New Year’s Eve — went on a series of short vacations in hopes of saving their marriage. But sources say they realized this week that their blessed union was beyond saving.

De Lesseps’ belongings are still at D’Agostino’s New York penthouse, where they had been living. She is currently taking a trip with her two children to Europe and will then return to her Sag Harbor home.

We’re told that de Lesseps is “truly sad” that the marriage is over and that the couple “still love each other.”

Sources say that D’Agostino — who has never previously been married — had wanted to continue with his “bachelor lifestyle” after they wed. But a friend of the businessman countered that “Luann was hardly staying at home knitting — being part of New York society was something they enjoyed doing together.”

Still, at least they lasted longer than the Mooch did in the White House.

The couple has a prenup and no shared assets, so the divorce is expected to be relatively simple. Reps declined to comment.
