Chester Bennington’s family to decide if his ‘Carpool Karaoke’ will air

James Corden will defer to Chester Bennington‘s family when it comes time to decide whether to air the late Linkin Park rocker’s “Carpool Karaoke: The Series” episode, which was shot shortly before his death.

“We will approach it in whichever manner his family or the people that were involved in that episode, however they would like it to be handled,” the “Late Late Show” host told the Associated Press in a new interview. “We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want because I don’t think there’s any other way we could deal with it.”

Bennington’s widow, Talinda Bennington, caught wind of Corden’s stance and responded with gratitude, tweeting, “Thank you @JKCorden.”

Bennington committed suicide by hanging in July, on what would’ve been close friend Chris Cornell‘s 53rd birthday. Cornell took his own life in the spring.
