YouTube’s Jake Paul addresses Disney controversy with rap

Prankster Jake Paul, who recently departed the Disney Channel series “Bizaardvark” in light of reports that he was a noisy neighbor, is hitting back at critics in a new rap song.

Titled “That Ain’t in the News,” Paul’s new track makes it clear mere seconds into the music video that it “isn’t a diss-track. Instead, the title card reads, “it’s a message to the news and hate.”

Paul’s lyrics mention his good deeds, which range from making a Make-A-Wish Foundation recipient’s dreams come true to emailing “depressed fans” to prevent them “from killing themselves,” but claims they never make the news. Instead, his lyrics argue, only his mistakes make headlines.

“That ain’t on your twitter / That ain’t on your Insta / That ain’t on your Twitter man / That ain’t on your Insta,” Paul raps.

The former Disney Channel star, who has since gained employment as a contributing social editor at LiveXLive Studios, also calls out his critics for shaming him and not other former Disney Channel stars who departed the network.

” Where was y’all at when Selena [Gomez] left Disney? / Didn’t talk s–t to her, but now you talk s–t to me,” he continues. “Where was y’all at when the neighbors didn’t hate me? / They all wanted pictures but now they’re tryna play me.”

He continues, “This is for all of the liars / Spreading these rumors like a virus / They don’t really know nothing ’bout us / They don’t know nothing about us.”

The 20-year-old YouTube star reportedly made his neighbors’ lives “a living hell” in July after sharing his address and encouraging visits from fans, as well as using his house as a set for his stunt-filled viral videos.

“It’s really poor timing,” a rep for Paul told Page Six at the end of July of the negative press. The rep explained that the split from Disney was amicable, and “they couldn’t have been nicer about it.”
