Sex toy pop-up shop successful thanks to ‘gutsy’ ladies

British sex-toy brand Hot Octopuss’ masturbation pop-up on the Lower East Side, which allowed guests to talk to a sex therapist and try out a new $150 Queen Bee vibrator, was a screaming success.

“Within 48 hours we had a thousand people apply,” owner Adam Lewis told us.

“The NYPD showed up on the first day. At first I thought they were going to shut us down and say you can’t have this sort of thing going on. They didn’t. They were concerned . . . that we would have some unscrupulous people outside and that hasn’t happened . . . They were so supportive.”

The space allowed guests to sip champagne while chatting with an “orgasm stylist,” and then try the product in a private room.

“It’s a little strange, but it’s something natural, so there is nothing to be embarrassed about,” one guest told us.

Lewis says women in New Yorkers are “a gutsy bunch of ladies.” “They have no qualms in discussing their sexuality, about what they want and what they would like to learn. They’re not shy, they’re quite up front and happy to have a go.”
