Rapper gets in sad Twitter battle with Piers Morgan

It was the saddest rap battle ever Tuesday when two hip-hop pioneers got into a pathetic squabble with Piers Morgan over who has more Twitter followers.

After Talib Kweli responded to one of the British provocateur’s tweets about whatever, Morgan replied, “Calm down, Talib. It’s not my fault your record sales are drying up.”

Tossing aside the opportunity to take the high road, the “Get By” rapper posted, “If I was irrelevant your soft ass wouldn’t even respond.”

The pair then got into such a pitiful contest over their Twitter followings that Kweli regrettably posted charts intended to prove that more of Morgan’s 6 million followers are “bots” than Kweli’s 1 million devotees. That’s when Public Enemy emcee Chuck D leapt into the sorry fray: “It’s the quality of the following never the quantity. Those [1 million] followers [of Kweli’s] are like boxers weight as opposed to fanatic marshmallow density.”
