Hollywood finally gets the ‘Hamilton’ thing

Hollywood finally got a taste of Broadway juggernaut “Hamilton” when Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hip-hop musical premiered in LA on Wednesday.

Halle Berry, Sean Combs, Jessica Alba, Shonda Rhimes, J.J. Abrams, Jimmy Kimmel, Paris Jackson, Eva Longoria, Sterling K. Brown, Helen Hunt and Elizabeth Banks were just some of the celebs who joined the show’s creator at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre debut.

“I’ve never seen an audience in California so excited about Broadway. They just went crazy,” West Coast socialite Nikki Haskell told us.

The opening-night audience later gathered at NeueHouse on Sunset Boulevard for an after-party.

“There were 1,000 people there. Paula Abdul, the mayor [Eric Garcetti], Halle,” said a spy.

“Lin-Manuel was taking photos with everyone. There was more seafood than I’ve ever seen. There’s not an oyster left in the world.”

Maybe Alexander Hamilton was partial to shellfish?

The LA production starring Michael Luwoye in the lead is scheduled to run through Dec. 30 before moving to San Diego.
