Sofía Vergara scores big victory in frozen embryo battle

Sofía Vergara scored a major victory in her contentious court battle with ex-fiancé Nick Loeb over their frozen embryos.

A Louisiana federal judge tossed the case out Friday, saying the embryos — which have been cryogenically frozen since the former couple’s IVF treatment in 2013 — are citizens of California, where they were conceived.

Louisiana is the only state where embryos have legal rights of their own — rather than being considered the belongings of their parents — and Loeb, who wants to be a dad, was trying to ship the embryos there from Beverly Hills.

The suit was filed on behalf of the embryos — named Emma and Isabella in court papers — demanding he get custody and alleging that Vergara “effectively abandoned” them.

Both parties declined to comment.
