Judge warns $2B Macklowe divorce trial will be ‘difficult’

Billionaire and occasional comedian Harry Macklowe wasn’t able to buy off his estranged wife — so he’ll have to face her in a divorce trial, which a judge on Wednesday promised is “not going to be a pleasant experience.”

Manhattan Justice Laura Drager issued the warning from the bench in an effort to get Harry Macklowe and his spouse of 58 years, Guggenheim trustee Linda Macklowe, to settle outside court.

“Your personal lives, your business, your assets, everything will be displayed for everyone to see,” Justice Drager warned about the public trial, scheduled to start next week.

“What I foresee is a very difficult, extended trial,” the judge said, adding that the two sides couldn’t even agree on how to divvy up bank accounts, even though most of their $2 billion in assets are in real estate and art.

Harry left his wife for a much-younger French mistress.
