Artist Peter Saul gives President Trump the brush off

Artist Peter Saul can explain why his painting “Quack-Quack, Trump” shows the president pointing six-shooters at his own head.

The artwork, featured on the invite to his show opening Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Mary Boone Gallery on West 24th Street, has nothing to do with Kathy Griffin’s pose with what looked like Donald Trump’s severed head, or Maurizio Cattelan’s sculpture of the pope being struck by a meteorite, Saul says.

“He’s shooting the ducks in his hair — it’s worse than cooties,” the 83-year-old artist told me.

Saul’s new paintings also include “Donald Trump in Florida,” which shows the president turning into a crocodile.

“I can’t even believe he’s president,” Saul said.
