David Foster: Yolanda and I had ‘other issues’ besides Lyme disease

With their divorce finally complete, David Foster has opened up about what really went wrong with his marriage to fourth wife Yolanda Hadid.

“We just always did our best,” the 67-year-old music producer told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday at the Grammy Museum’s third annual gala in Los Angeles. “We had some other issues as well, but everybody’s in a good place now. The main thing is that she’s healthy and in remission. She worked really hard at it and now she’s reaping the rewards of that.”

Hadid, 53, filed for divorce from Foster in January 2016 after four years of marriage. The former star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” struggled with Lyme disease both on and off camera, which reportedly led to the demise of their relationship.

“They’ve been having problems for a while but have been hiding it,” a source told Page Six shortly after the pair announced their separation in December 2015. “David thinks Yolanda always plays the victim … and he got sick of it.

“Yolanda is always trying to be so self-righteous. But he’s a straight shooter … and everyone knows it. He just felt that everything was about her.”

Though Hadid has since moved on from “Housewives,” the mother of three has helped navigate the modeling careers of daughters Gigi, 22, and Bella, 20, as well as son Anwar, 18. She also released her first book, “Believe Me: My Battle with the Invisible Disability of Lyme Disease,” earlier this month.

“I haven’t read the book,” Foster revealed. “But she seems to be doing great. She’s healthy and living back east and happy and her kids are doing great, so it’s good.”

Perhaps Foster should leave Hadid’s page-turner on a shelf, as the model spends quite a few pages detailing the collapse of their marriage, in addition to her battle with Lyme disease.
