Kim Kardashian has recalled her horror at being told she had suffered a miscarriage with daughter North.
The reality star welcomed her first child with now-husband Kanye West in June 2013.
But in the upcoming 10th anniversary special of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Kim reveals how doctors told her she had lost her baby on Thanksgiving.
As the 36-year-old discussed her difficult pregnancy with host Ryan Seacrest, she said: “At one point I thought I had had a miscarriage.
“I was pretty certain and even a doctor told me there was no heartbeat and said ‘You have had a miscarriage’.
“It was around Thanksgiving and it was the worst Thanksgiving ever.”
The doctor asked Kim to come back another day to have surgery to remove the fetus and when she went into the room, she was shocked to discover she hadn’t lost the baby after all.
She recalled: “I was on the monitor and he [the doctor] was like: ‘There’s a heartbeat!’”
Kim has been open about her difficult pregnancies, having also struggled through the nine-months carrying a second child, son Saint, in 2015.
The star also suffered health complications after North’s birth which meant her placenta grew onto the wall of her uterus in a condition called placenta accreta.
In a post on her website in 2015 ahead of Saint’s arrival, Kim elaborated on her problems writing: “Last pregnancy, I had a condition called preeclampsia, which is a serious condition you can get during pregnancy.
“It causes your body and face to swell, and that was very uncomfortable for me. I had early-onset preeclampsia and I had to deliver at 34 weeks, almost six weeks early.”
Thankfully Kim will not have to go through the trauma again for her third child, after reports surfaced over the summer which claimed the couple had paid a surrogate to carry their child.
Us Weekly claimed back in June that the couple had paid a woman in her 20s £90,000 to secure the surrogacy.
Further claims were then made that the mystery lady is due in January and is carrying a girl.
Earlier this month, Kim spoke out for the first time about the rumors, saying: “[There’s] so many details out there, and like I’ve never heard this, I’ve never heard this.
“Like whatever. We have not confirmed it, and that’s that. I’ll let you know when we’re ready.
“I’ve definitely seen a lot of things, we’ve never confirmed anything.”
