Amy Schumer is in the early stages of working on her next comedy special, we’re told.
Spies at legendary New York stand-up club the Comic Strip — where Jerry Seinfeld taped portions of his latest Netflix special — tell us Schumer jumped onstage for a surprise set Sunday night and told the audience she’s working on new material.
Our source says Schumer left the crowd “in tears of laughter.”
“She looked amazing and her set was spot-on,” said a comedy fan.
Larry David was in the audience, and we’re told Schumer tried to coax him to join her onstage, but he stayed in his seat.
David instead chatted with owner Richie Tienken about “the good old days at the Comic Strip.”
Tienken told Page Six, “I feel such a sense of pride when the comedians that got their start on the Comic Strip turn into the biggest names in the industry. It continues to blow my mind.”
