Meghan Markle’s sis praises Prince Harry’s chivalry

Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha Grant is praising Prince Harry for his “chivalry” in defending his actress girlfriend against racial abuse and malicious media attacks.

Grant, the estranged half-sister of the “Suits” star, claims her book, “The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister,” has a publisher, but she insists that — despite the title — she “wouldn’t write a slimy tell-all” about Markle.

Grant, 52, told us, “It honors Meg and it looks at the implementation of the Civil Rights Act . . . and how I felt watching the media abuse my sister along racial lines.” Plus, “Had it had a negative tone, Meg’s attorney’s would have injuncted it.”

Grant, who is white, has the same father as Markle, who is biracial, and says the book will discuss “how the British royal family has evolved and been more appreciative and multicultural. I am proud and impressed how they have handled this [relationship]. I was very proud of Prince Harry’s chivalry and stance in defense of my sister and his love for her. The world witnessed some honorable actions on his regard.”

Harry’s spokesperson said in a 2016 statement that “Meghan . . . has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment,” including “the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and Web article comments . . . [Prince Harry] is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her.”

The couple looked happy stepping out this week at the Invictus Games in Toronto.

“I am not capitalizing on my sister’s fame,” says Grant, who notes she once starred in a beer commercial and a 1993 episode of NBC’s “Matlock.” She added, “This is saying something on a subject that means a lot to me. It’s warm, witty and historically meaningful . . . I think my sister, Harry and the royal family will be happy with the book.”

But Grant admits she’s not currently on speaking terms with Markle, and hasn’t had a relationship with her for over 10 years. “She’s busy and taking her time for Prince Harry. That’s OK. There’s still some silence there but that seems to be normal [given] all of the media madness that occurred.”
